Once you purchase a gift certificate, you will receive an email with your unique gift certificate code. When making a purchase in our store, you can redeem the value of your gift certificate by entering its unique code in the appropriate field at checkout. Gift certificate codes aren't case sensitive.

The balance on a gift certificate can be spent on more than one order. You may also use more than one gift certificate per order. Gift certificate balances are applied to the total value of an order, which can include taxes and shipping.

When you redeem a gift certificate, the checkout will display one of the following options:

  • If the balance available on the gift certificate is greater than or equal to the order total, then you can click complete order.
  • If the balance available on the gift certificate is less than the order total, then you will be prompted to choose a second payment method for the remaining balance before placing your order.

If you would like to buy a gift certificate for someone else, check the box above that states “I want to send this as a gift.” Fill out the form in order to send the gift certificate to someone else. The receiver’s email is required. You may also add their name, a special message to them, and choose a specific time and date for the certificate to be sent. You will still receive a receipt for your purchase.

Please note: All gift certificates are digital products. You will not receive a physical product in the mail. All certificates will be delivered to the provided email. Please make sure to double check yours and the recipient’s email before checkout.

FAQs

1. What type of hair am I purchasing?

Hair in the Mirror provides only pure human hair, with no synthetic hair or filler fibers included. All hair provided by Hair in the Mirror is carefully and ethically sourced from single donors in countries located in Southeast Asia (SEA). Our raw textures have not been altered in any way. Raw hair comes in its natural state and is only washed, treated and wefted after being cut from the donor. No dye or chemical processing is applied. All of our hair has cuticles aligned in the same direction, ensuring there is no tangling and minimal shedding, with proper care.

Raw hair has a medium/natural luster and consists of thicker strands, giving it more texture and ability to blend flawlessly with all hair types. The colors of the hair can range from natural brown to natural black. Keep in mind that longer bundles will have looser curl patterns. Due to the raw nature of the hair, there may be very slight variations in color and curl pattern from bundle to bundle. Although the differences are very slight, we will carefully select your bundles during packaging to provide the closest match possible. With proper care, our raw hair can last a lifetime.

Our virgin wigs are 100% human hair. The cuticles are aligned to prevent excess tangling and shedding. Our virgin hair is steam processed to achieve uniform patterns throughout the hair. These wigs are not chemically treated in any way, allowing them to still be of premium quality.

2. How much hair do I need?

The amount of hair needed depends on the look and style you wish to achieve. The following amounts are suggestions for the MINIMUM amount of hair you should use based on length. These are just suggestions and can vary based on head size and whether or not you chose to use a closure or frontal as well. Feel free to add more bundles if you wish to achieve more volume. Keep in mind that the longer the length of the hair, the shorter the weft will be. 

12" - 16": 2 or more bundles

18" - 22": 3 or more bundles

24" - 28": 4 or more bundles 

3. What is the difference between HD and transparent lace?

HD lace is thinner than transparent lace, making it easier to blend with your skin and hairline. This also makes it more fragile than transparent lace. Be gentle when handling your lace. 

Transparent lace is slightly thicker than our HD lace. This makes it more durable and longer lasting. Transparent lace is clear in color and will require use of lace tint or make up to match the lace to your skin tone for a perfect blend.

Both lace types can be used on all skin tones.

4. Can my hair be dyed and straightened?

All of our hair can be dyed and straightened. However, treat this hair like your own. Excessive heat application can eventually alter the curl pattern of your hair, as with continuous/frequent bleaching. Only apply heat to clean, dry hair and be sure to use a heat protectant. Curly/wavy hair will revert to natural pattern with a regular washing.

For best results, hair should be bleached prior to applying color. We recommend that you do not use a developer stronger than 30 Vol. Seek professional services when applying bleach/color to ensure the best results and maintain the quality of your hair.

5. What is the best way to care for my hair?

Raw hair behaves like real hair, because that’s exactly what it is. However, since the hair is no longer attached to the scalp, it cannot access moisture as your own hair can. Therefore, it is very important that you provide the hair with the moisture it needs and keep it free of product build up with regular washes and conditioning/deep conditioning. Shipping Policy

Please note that we are an online business and all orders must be placed through the Hair in the Mirror website and shipped to the customer. We do not offer a pickup option for orders.

Processing Time

Processing time refers to the period between placing an order and receiving a tracking number for your order. This time allows us to perform second checks on your items and carefully package them in order to ensure the highest quality before shipping.

Once your order has been placed, please allow 7-14 business days for processing. Business days are Monday through Friday and do not include weekends or holidays. Please be aware that processing times may be extended during sales and holiday periods. For orders placed on a business day before 5 pm EST, the processing time begins the same day. Processing time for orders placed on a business day after 5 pm EST will begin the next business day. If an order is placed on a weekend or holiday, the processing time will begin the next business day. 

Please wait until after the 14th business day (extended during sales) to contact us regarding a tracking number.

Please note that paying for expedited shipping at checkout will NOT shorten the processing time and will only affect the time it takes the carrier to deliver your package once it ships. All orders are subject to standard processing time, regardless of shipping method, unless otherwise stated by us.

Shipping

Once processing is complete, a tracking number will be sent to the email address provided at the time you placed your order. Online tracking updates by the carrier should appear within 24-48 hours.

Packages are shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Please allow 2-3 business days for the delivery of packages within the US. Please allow 7-10 business days for delivery of international orders. Please be aware we are not responsible for any customs fees or import taxes that may be applied by your country. International orders require a physical address and cannot be shipped to a postal box or mailing center.

Orders over $100 will require a signature for delivery. This means that someone must be home to sign for the package. If no one is available at the time, USPS will usually make several delivery attempts and leave a notice of their attempts. The notice may include options for pick up at a local office or alternate delivery. It is your responsibility to make these delivery arrangements if no one will be available to sign for your package at the time of attempted delivery. Refunds or replacements will not be issued for refused or abandoned shipments. Packages returned to us due to your failure to sign for or make arrangements for pick up of your package will be reshipped at your expense. 

Lost, Stolen, Misdelivered, or Damaged Packages

We have added Shipped Shield Package Assurance to our website to give customers the option to protect their packages once they ship. This is an optional service, and our customers are fully responsible for adding and purchasing this protection for their order at the time of purchase. Hair in the Mirror will not add or purchase this service for you. If you remove the coverage from your cart at checkout, your package will not be insured. Any claims regarding lost, stolen, misdelivered, or damaged packages must be filed through the Shipped Shield portal. Shipped Shield Package Assurance can only be used by customers who add the protection at the time of their purchase from Hair in the Mirror. In the case that your package is lost, stolen, misdelivered, or damaged and you have not purchased shipping insurance through Shipped Shield, you must contact USPS and follow their protocols to file a claim. Hair in the Mirror is not responsible for any claims concerning lost, stolen, misdelivered, or damaged packages.

Once your order has been shipped, we are no longer responsible for it. Any claims regarding lost, stolen, misdelivered, or damaged packages must be filed through Shipped Shield or USPS. Hair in the Mirror is not responsible for any claims concerning lost, stolen, misdelivered, or damaged packages. No refunds or replacements for lost, stolen, misdelivered, or damaged packages will be issued by Hair in the Mirror.

Use the provided tracking number to keep up with the location of your package. If you will not be home on the expected date of arrival, contact USPS to have the package held at a local office.

Incorrect Addresses, Undeliverable Packages, and Refused Deliveries

Your order will be shipped via USPS to the provided address. A major cause of shipping/delivery delays is incorrect or incomplete addresses provided at the time of checkout. Please make sure your address is correct and that all information needed for delivery is included (address, apt. #, etc).

If a package is returned to us as non-deliverable, we will contact you. If the package could not be delivered due to our error, reshipping will be at our expense. If the error was made by the customer, reshipping will occur at your expense.

Refunds or replacements will not be provided for refused or abandoned shipments. 

NOTE: We are not responsible for any delays in shipping due to carrier delays, holidays, natural disasters, or inclement weather. Please order far enough in advance to allow for processing times and any unexpected delays that are out of our control. Delayed packages will not be subject to shipping reimbursement.

Refunds/Returns

Our goal is to provide everyone with a great hair experience. If you ever have any problems, please contact us so we can do our best to assist you. Due to the nature of our products, ALL SALES ARE FINALFor sanitary purposes, our offered products cannot be resold after being worn or manipulated by the customer. For this reason, ALL SALES ARE FINAL and no requests for returns or refunds will be accepted. Please make sure to verify your order and ensure that all items in your cart are correct before placing an order. By placing an order you accept that all sales are final and agree not to file disputes or chargebacks for your order.

Exchanges (if applicable)

In the rare event that we mistakenly ship the wrong items, an exchange may be requested. Before the exchange is conducted, the items received by the customer must be shipped to Hair in the Mirror and inspected by us. In order to be eligible for exchange, the items received in error must be in their original state, not worn or manipulated. Items must be in their original packaging and remain tagged. Bundles should not be unwrapped or untied at the top. Packages sent for exchange must include the original invoice for proof of purchase. If any of these criteria are not met upon inspection, the exchange request will not be granted. Once we receive your items, we will send an email to confirm we have received them. We will also notify you within 48 hours of receipt if we have approved or denied your request for exchange. If approved, the incorrect items received by the customer will be exchanged for the correct items ordered by the customer. Substitutions will not be allowed. Approved exchanges will be subject to our standard processing time. See our Shipping Policy for more details. 

If you need to request an exchange, send us an email at support@hairinthemirror.com WITHIN 72 HOURS OF THE DELIVERY DATE.

Sending items back to Hair in the Mirror for exchange will be done at the customers’ expense. If the items pass our inspection, the customer will be reimbursed shipping costs up to a maximum of $10.00. For approved exchanges, the correct item will be shipped to you using the same delivery method as your original order, at our expense. 

Exchanges must be shipped out within 5 days of the request. If we do not receive a tracking number for your requested exchange indicating the items have been received by the carrier within 5 days of the request, your request will be canceled. A refund will not be issued. 

You must use a trackable shipping service. We suggest signature confirmation or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your item for exchange. We are not responsible for lost packages, non-trackable packages, unauthorized returns, or packages sent to the wrong address. 

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.

Missing Items

In the rare event that we forget to send an item ordered, the item will be shipped to you at our expense. Please notify us of any missing items WITHIN 72 HOURS OF THE DELIVERY DATE. Send an email to support@hairinthemirror.com. Please note that all packages are photographed before shipment due to fraud attempts. This is done for the protection of the customer, and the company and to ensure you receive the correct products.
